Vasectomy
Before I make a major decision, I interview.Updated 3 years ago
I have been seriously considering having a vasectomy for ten years.
Its a very personal decision, am I'm trying to get some the personal experiences from friends.
I am completely sure I do not want to have children. My concerns are about the medical portion.
I understand fully there will be some pain for the first week or so--I just want to make absoluately sure once it is all healled up, I will be good.
Would you mind answering a few questions?
Questions:
- Which specific type of vastectomy did you get? Conventional, or No-Scalpel?
- Were your Vas Deferens "ends" sealed or left open? (See Picture-->)
- Do you regret your decision?
- Did you have any complications?
- Did it make sex less enjoyable at all?
- Did it make orgasms less enjoyable at ALL?
- Did you notice a drop in your sex drive?
- Did you just have local anaesthetic, and it took about 15 minutes?
- How long was your recovery time until no pain?
- How long was your recovery time until no discomfort?
- How long was your recovery time until you felt 100%?
- Did the actual procedure hurt?
- Any questions I should ask my doctor?
Questions:
- I know how people hate to answer the same questions from idiots all the time. :)
- So here are hopefully some well thought-out questions I still have reading every word on your website, and 40 hours of online research:
- Is the cost only $60? I assume the government subsidizes it?
- Who do I get to do the Sperm test at 12 weeks? What is the cost?
- Is there really a prize after I fail my sperm test?
- What is the wait time before I can get this done? Does it help to travel to Vancouver?
- BTw, I LOVED the humour/jokes in the website!
Drugs:
Your $60 includes these awesome drugs, and a sweet jock strap.
- Acetaminophen (500mg) for 2 days
- Naxproxen (500mg) for 5 more days
Options:
- Seal Ends or Not
- "Dick Switch"
- Vasagel
- R.I.S.U.G.
Obviously:
- Be careful having unprotected sex for months afterwards
