Adam on Privacy

Things I've Learned:

  • Some people need anonymity to do their jobs / security (Journalists)
  • Warrants are apparently too-easy to get
  • There should-be, and is-not any oversight on how personal digital data is used

Regarding Over-Sharing on Facebook:

  • I am proud to be a Digital-Exhibitionist
  • I think my posted pictures accurately portray my Amazing life and friends
  • I see the alternative is holding back / not living life, or not being able to remember the good times.
  • Admit in 10-20 years, when all these over-sharing 14 year Olds are in careers
  • What you did in your personal life will be so blasé

Questions:

  • Can a website I visit view ALL my Cookies, or just the ones they created?
  • Is the stuff that (could have) got Nixon impeached (ILLEGAL wire-tapping, spying, etc.) is routine, common-place and provable in Canadian politics today?

My Critique the Privacy Movement:

  • Not selling it to the Average Idiot Well Enough to get Pissed
  • Not saying the worst-case scenario.
  • Not using extreme cases to prove a point.

How to Motivate Others:

  • Figure out specifically What's Going on
  • Prove it
  • Propose your solution / How it should be
  • Present it in a Clear, Fun, Manner
  • Get People Pissed Off
  • Tell them How they Can help in a fun, effect manner, Ideally Without leaving their Chair

How I Intend to Help:

I know i seem-like/am a loud-mouth over-simplifier, but we spread the word, and get results ;)

Please provide your input, and help me Back up those arguments in a simple way, and people will get on board
