Quick Horse Health Check
Obviously you cannot do a full health check so quickly.
People spend their lives learning about horses. Duh!
But the average person should at the very least look at these 9 things before thinking a horse is being poorly treated.
A Healthy Horse should:
- Their Feet (No Cuts, etc)
- Their Hooves (Good Angle??, not overgrown)
- Their Shoes (Rubber, if on pavement)
- Their tack fits well,
- Their bit
- Their Body is good condition (sweating is OK)
- Access to Water (when stopped)
- Eyes Don't look Fearful/Stressed
- Excessive Head Shaking/Tossing is Bad

Note:
- Horses are measured in "hands". A hand is 4 inches. Yes it is weird.
- They are measured to the best of their mane, the "Withers".
- Anything over 14.3 hands is a Horse. Anything under, a Pony.
- A Gelding is a neutered horse. Nearly all horses are gelded.
- Carraiges weigh around 400lbs empty, and are rolled by humans when hitching.
