Garbage Box
My Garbage Can, Recycling, and Compost Container Converting ProjectUpdated 4 years ago
Concerns:
- I don't want the enclosure be TOO tall. My driveway wall is only 4 feet tall there, so I would like it to be as low as possible. Hence the slope backwards, so that the cans can be pulled out front ways easily.
- Upper horizontal cross beam MUST be high enough to allow the cans to slide out! (Hence the backward slant)
- Keep Doors from Sagging
- Strong cross piece on back to keep whole-thing from going trapezoidal
- Lids Light Enough to lift one-handed
Concerns:

Red | Hinges + Latches |
Green | Feet |
Yellow | Shelf |
Signs:
- "Paper+Cardboard"
- "Crushed Containers"
- "Garbage"
- "Compost"
Signage:
Wood-burned signs are AWESOME and classy hidden when closed, revealed when opened!!I will need to install a laminated card on the inside of the lid, to flop down when opened indicating the Garbage rules
- Please Install BOTH Aps on the phone for pickup reminders
- If it doesn't _comfortably_ fit in the appropriate area, you must take it to the Bottle Depot
- You will be charged for any extra dumping and transportation costs.
- If garbage is overfilled, bags will be opened to make sure recycling is being properly removed from garbage.
Extras:
- Exacto Knife Tied to it to cut large Cardboard
- Label all Recycling Boxes
- Lip to easily roll cans back in.
- Pet-proof Rat Trap Area
Questions:
- How to latch Doors, that is strong, but easily unlatched and re-latched
- How to keep Top Lids Propped-Up (Hydraulics, Wood Prop?)
Supplies($200-$300):
