My Earthquake / Disaster Plan
My disaster plan. So that I can focus on things I can change, and help as many people as possible.Updated 8 months ago
I think its smart to plan my disaster plan. So that I can focus on things I can change, and help as many people as possible.
Most of this only comes into effect after a serious earthquake (Loss of Power, Collapsed Buildings, Injuries.)
Emergency Alerts:
Priorities:
Immediate Priorities
- Locate + Secure Bosco
- Text 1-650-924-1975, Mom, Darlana, with #ImOK or #NeedHelp
- Post to Facebook saying I am OK, and where I going next.
Secondary:
- Fill All Bathtubs and Containers, Then Turn off Water (for firefighters)
- Check on Sharon's Daycare for any major damage / injuries.
- Go down to the Saanich fire+police station, and offer to help in any way possible.
Finally:
- Donate Blood.
- Volunteer with Search and Rescue.
- Collect Stray Animals.
- Purchase Gas
- Check Foundation, siding, and roof for repairs
I ask that my Family + Friends:
- DO NOT call ANYONE unless it for emergency services!!
- Send TXT messages, as they are MUCH more reliable on over-burdened cellular networks
- Post your location, needs, and condition to Facebook. Txt me if help is required.
- Think of & Help Others.
- Stay Calm.
Ritcher Scale 101
The Ritcher scale, used to measure Earthquakes is LOGARITHMIC scale.A 6 is TEN times worse then a 5)
A 7 is TEN times worse then a 6)
etc.
Anything under 3.0 is a "Micro" Quake/Tremor.
